Day 3 was the beginning of our appointments with the companies in the fashion industry, the sole purpose of coming to New York. We went to about 4 appointments each day. It started raining the evening before, and when we woke up it hadn't stopped and little did we know it wasn't going to for awhile. Our first stop was TrimLab. They work with designers in choosing trims and fasteners for their designs while keeping cost and application in mind. It was a very interesting company and I feel that they are a great source for designers and small companies. They know their stuff and seem eager to help with the success of small companies. I was very surprised that work with DVF in making her zipper pulls!

Next stop was M.S. Schmalburg. They create custom made fabric flowers right in the garment district! We were able to see behind the scenes in all the steps they used to create they beautful flowers. Their history is great to hear and we all had a blast. We even go to shop their stock and bring back home some great pieces.

After that we went to RMC, a company that works with Anthropologie in designing their knitwear. This company designs pieces and works with the Anthropologie buying team. We got to listen to their design timeline and how that works with the buying timeline.

Our last stop was Earnshaw's. Earnshaw's is a childrens trade publication. Their photoshoots are great to look at and very inspiring. We got to meet with the Art Director of the magainze. We were able to listen to his story and his road to the magazine. By the end of the day I was a wet hot mess and had decided it was time to invest in a rain jacket! There was this awesome shop next to our hotel selling winter coats for $20!! I got a $360 Laundry winter coat for $20, I felt like I was stealing it from them. Can't wait to rock that coat this winter in Nashville. I also picked up a Betsey Johnson raincoat there. Chelsea and I decided to have some fun with this cool street painting advertising for a salon.
