Wednesday was the last day of appoinments. We were excited to meet with everyone, but boy were we happy to stop running around the city like crazy people! We even got some sunshine for a bit. Don't worry it was still cold! First stop was Calvin Klein flagship store. It was the posterchild for minimalism. They shared with us Calvin's history and how the company got to where it is today. I was completely unaware that they had the first model to ever speak. You learn something new everyday!

Susan van der Linde was our second appointment. This is the lady to come to if you are in the market for a one of a kind hat! Listening to her speak you could hear her passion in her voice, and it's something that I want to strive for. Her pieces were remarkable and we even got to try some on! Her hats can take from 12 hours to a month to make! If I ever go to the derby, I am calling Susan.

Then it was time for the appoinment I had been waiting for PRPS Goods. They are a high end denim company. I love denim and really want to make my career in that field. We listened to the owner talk about his love for denim, and how he comes up with his unique distressed looks. He is inspired by vintage denim and the stains they accquired over the years. He was the most inpsirational to me, and would love to work for him someday or at least intern. Maybe one day! He took a sharpie pen to this jacket, talk about talent!

Our last and final appointment was in Queens, at Calypso St. Barth's corporate office. We got a behind the scenes tour to all the departments and got to go down to their staging space. Each new floor plan gets staged with merchandise to get a more visual representation of the store and how the pieces should go together.

While we were in Queens I wanted to go to the newly renovated David's Bridal. I'm currently a stylist with them here in Nashville, and wanted to take a look at how the company has rebranded themselves and what the future holds. It was not a disappointment. I even brought back some information to our store and am looking forward to the day we get a shiny new store like them.

We had dinner at a Seafood and Tappas restaurant. The food was good, but the best part was when we broke away and got popsicles! Yes it was cold and slightly raining outside, but it was worth it! Popsicle business here I come.
